During the "Johnson County Cattle War" of 1892 in Wyoming, Nate Champion held fifty well armed invaders at bay for seven long hours.  The invaders finally set his cabin afire, forcing him to make his last run. He was shot down soon after he emerged from the smoke of the blazing cabin.  He ultimately caused to fail, the invasion of Johnson County.  In doing so, he saved countless lives.
